Our Connected Future is the first season of the BMPD Storytellers podcast, hosted by Max Peacock. it is a series of conversational podcast episodes featuring experts on various aspects of technology. With guests, Max discusses digital storytelling, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and much more. The podcast aspires to incite critical reflection on the role of technology in today’s societies.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In the final episode of Our Connected Future, Max is joined by BMPD faculty members Vicky McArthur, Katie Graham, and St\u00e9fy McKnight to discuss the program’s mission and evolution over recent years.<\/p>\n

Vicky McArthur is the Director of the Bachelor Media Production and Design program. She is an associate professor at the university with research interests including human-computer interaction, social inclusion, UX design, augmented reality and more.<\/p>\n

Katie Graham is a part of the faculty of the BMPD program and a partner at Carleton\u2019s Immersive Media Studio. She is currently completing her Ph.D in Architecture with a focus on the relationship between architecture and virtual reality for storytelling.<\/p>\n

St\u00e9fy McKnight is an Assistant Professor in the BMPD program and a co-collaborator on the research-creation project titled CAM HUNTERS. Their research interests look at surveillance as contemporary colonialism in so-called Canada; queer and femme culture representation in digital and virtual spaces; 2SLGBTQIA+ activism; technology in rural communities, and art as function-creep.<\/p>\n

In their conversation, Max and the BMPD faculty unpack the importance of storytelling skills in the digital age and the type of future the program aims to prepare students for.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
