PROJECT DETAILS

“Innovation, resilience, and collaboration are our hope for a better tomorrow in the face of the polycrisis.”

We are producing a three-part, five-minute documentary for ICI Canada to educate and inform the public about the polycrisis from various Canadian perspectives. The polycrisis encompasses multiple interconnected challenges—including climate change, emerging and disruptive technologies, pandemics, geopolitical conflict, inflation, affordability, and the spread of misinformation and disinformation—many of which have intensified in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

ICI Canada views the polycrisis not as a single problem with a straightforward solution, but as a complex web of challenges that citizens, communities, and institutions must continually adapt to. This documentary aims to highlight the urgency of collective action and offer insight into how Canadians can work together to navigate these crises.

The documentary is structured into three distinct yet interconnected segments: an introduction to the polycrisis, an exploration of its impact on the public, and a discussion of potential future responses. Each part is designed to stand alone while also building upon the others. To ensure a well-rounded perspective, we have gathered data through research, interviews, and surveys, forming the foundation of our documentary’s content.

PARTNER

ICI Canada

The Institute for Collaborative Innovation (ICI Canada) is a non-profit startup organization focused on improving our understanding of the emergence of dozens of interrelated global risks known as a “polycrisis”. Due to the experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic, the polycrisis now puts into question Canada’s capacity to sustain the wellbeing of our society. Their goal is to help better inform the public of these challenges and help design structures, processes, and tools to aid in the combat against the polycrisis.
