Sometimes, the Hate Monster does things that make people feel sad or unsafe. We need your help to spot him! Let’s look at how we can spot the Hate Monster and help him become a friend instead of a bully!

Seeking help! (parents, teachers, police)

If you hear or see something hurtful, you can tell a grown-up you trust like a teacher, parent, school counselor or even police officer! They can help stop the Hate Monster and no one will get hurt. Even if you’re not sure if something is a hate crime, it’s always a good idea to talk about it. The more we speak up, the safer everyone will be!

Did you know that you can take classes at school that teach about hate crimes and how to stop them? Subjects like history, social studies, or even special courses on kindness and equality help you understand what hate crimes are and why they happen. When you learn more about hate crimes, you’ll be better at protecting yourself and others.

Participate in campaigns and activities

You don’t have to fight the Hate Monster alone! Schools and communities often have clubs, activities, and events that teach kindness, respect, and standing up against discrimination. You can help by joining an anti-bullying club, attending events that promote inclusion, or even starting your own campaign to spread kindness. Every small act of kindness helps shrink the Hate Monster and make the world a more friendly place for everyone!

Remember: The Hate Monster only grows when people stay silent. 

But when we speak up, stand together, and spread kindness, we make the world a safer and happier place!
