Who we are
We are a group of five Media Production and Design students from Canada and China coming together to make an Anti Hate Crime Campaign for Ottawa. Our program focuses on storytelling, creativity, design, and technology all aspects we have brought together to create our final campaign. Our passions for digital design, web development, editing, media writing, coding and storytelling have driven us throughout the year to not only better our skills, but be proud of our final product. As future media creators, we hope to continue putting our skills into projects like this that give voices to communities and individuals, provide more meaningful work and tell important stories.
Meet the Team
Boyi Tan
Hi, I’m Boyi. I love telling stories, which is why I’ve been working hard to become a director, sound artist, and UI/UX designer, driven by a passion for crafting impactful visual and audio communication. I love films, music, running, and singing. Back home in China, on the other side of the world, I have two dogs and three cats. I hope to graduate soon so I can spend more time with my parents and pets.
Hongyi Zheng
I am an International student coming from China. I am passionate about telling stories, especially using visual elements. This vision drives me to continuously learn drawing, 3D design, animation, and game design. Also, I am continuing to learn the techniques relating to scripts and novels. One of my goals is to make my own story.
Danielle Mulligan
Hi, I’m Danielle. I am a fourth year MPAD student originally from Ajax. I have always had a passion for sports media, photography and editing. My passions have grown throughout my time at Carleton and I have developed a love for filmmaking and cinematography. I hope to combine my interests and get into a field related to cinematography and sports.
Martin Nguyen
I was born and raised in Ottawa and live with one dog at home, a Shih Tzu. I work part time as an apprentice goldsmith and enjoy making desserts in my free time.
Photography, writing and fine jewelry design are my passions that I intend to pursue whether as a career or as a hobby.
Patricia Xu
Hello! I am an international student from northeast China, so Mandarin works for me. I have a great passion for digital art work in the daily time, that encourages me to share my creations with the multiple communities. Not only digital art, video games design is one of my interests that I hope to work on in my future career, which I’d love to build my own story. Also, cheers for me if I can have a cat in the future. 😉
